A scorpion over Mont-Blanc - Chamonix
Saturn in Scorpio's pinchers above Mont-Blanc at Chéserys lake in Chamonix. The constellation of Scorpio over the Mont-Blanc appears to be holding Saturn in its pinchers. To the left, the starry ribbon of the Milky Way is seen at its maximum density in the middle of the galaxy in the Sagittarius constellation. In the center of the image, the Lagoon Nebula gives itself away with its pink color, due to its hydrogen composition. At the top left, the shining Altair, in the Eagle constellation, dominates the Green Needle (4122 m). Despite the lake's altitude (2271 m), the night is warm, and in their tents across the water, the hikers are still awake.
