Tribute to Thomas Pesquet - Opus 4
Passage of the ISS with Thomas Pesquet over Notre Dame des Neiges church on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Major point of resistance during the Second World War, the plateau of Glières unveils a small chapel posed on the top of a hill in its Southern section: Notre Dame des Neiges. This foreground served as the décor for the passage of the French astronaut on the International Space Station during nautical twilight. After having emerged from the crest of pines, the vessel reached its apex above the chapel before re-descending and disappearing into the shadow of the Earth, practically directly beneath the brilliant star of Capella in the Cocher constellation.
