Milky Way in the small lake - Talloires
A fifteen minute walk from the golf course of Talloires brought me to a little belvedere overlooking the lake in the Roc de Chère, with the bay of Talloires visible just below. On the opposite bank, the little mountain of Taillefer marks the frontier between the large and small Annecy lakes; one can also see the peninsula that is home to Duignt castle. Dominating the landscape, the limestone mass of the Tounette (2351m) guards the last snows of a white winter. In the sky, the Milky Way offers up its best assets, with a proliferation of star clusters and nebulas in Sagittarius. On the right, in the constellation of Scorpio, Saturn and Mars reign. The red planet is once again the brightest of the two, having made its closest passage to the Earth at the end of May 2016.
