On the Chilean Altiplano, at more than 4000m of altitude in the Atacama Desert, a small salt lake deposits a whitish layer of sodium on its banks. On the horizon, the Putana volcano (5890m) marks the border with Bolivia. The place is magical, with the only presence of vicuñas that feed on the tufts of grass.
