Venus, Saturn and the crescent moon came together in the sky on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. I wanted to capture the twilight gathering from the edge of Lake Annecy. The Shepherd's Star and the Moon were playing hide-and-seek among the clouds, and I only had a few minutes to capture the instant before the Western horizon became too overcast. Three days old, the crescent moon is enhanced by the glow of Earthshine reflected off the Earth's surface. Note the reflection of the Moon and Venus in the lake.
