Like a finger pointed towards the stars, this emblematic rock of Chaos de Nîmes le Vieux in Lozère keeps its balance. The site located in the hamlet of Veygalier on the Méjean Causse brims with dolomite rocks. During the one-hour photographic exposure, the stars’ trajectory clearly shows the celestial equator between the two rounded shapes crossed by a meteor. Mars, the brightest star that night, is visible behind the foreground rock.
