Utah’s Brice Canyon National Park, at an altitude of 2,400 m, is among the most beautiful in the American West. Its colourful geological formations called Hoodoos stand in an amphitheatre about twenty miles long.
Arriving late on the site, I made it just in time to experience this panorama before the end of the astronomical twilight, to see the light still lingering on the Hoodoos on this moonless night. On the left, the Horst Hammer stands proud against the backdrop of the Milky Way. The double Perseus cluster is clearly visible, alongside the galaxy of Andromeda on its right. On the opposite side, the centre of our Galaxy swarms with nebulae within the Sagittarius constellation.
