Passage of the ISS with Thomas Pesquet over Annecy lake on Tuesday, April 11, 2017.
The reedbeds are areas of preservation for the flora and fauna of Annecy. On the edge of one of them, at the small port of Annecy-le-Vieux, with the sculpture by René Broissand in the foreground, I posed my tripod in order to capture the passage of the International Space Station. Emerging from the shadow of the Earth at the expected moment, the ISS crossed the star cluster of the Pleïades before continuing on its way towards the constellation of Gemini.
After its passage above the René Broissand sculpture, the International Space Station terminated its luminous trajectory in the direction of the full moon, still hidden behind Mont Veyrier. For the French astronaut Thomas Pesquet, it meant a quick sunset in his vessel flying at 28,000 km/h in its orbit at 400 km above the Earth.
