2km from the centre of the village overlooking the Rhône valley, the Val des Nymphes is full of mysteries. The permanent spring, which feeds the great basin, has fascinated people since Antiquity. They worshipped the nymphs, the deities of water, fertility and prosperity. Several churchs have been built next to the spring, the last remnant of which is the present-day prior church of Notre Dame des Nymphes from the 12th century. The serenity of the place invites you to contemplate the sky, with two clearly visible galaxies that evening. First of all, the Milky Way, which extends its gaseous nebulae between the constellations of Cassiopeia and Perseus. The Andromeda galaxy, located 2.5 billion light years away, sits above the church.
