Guarding the southern tip of the Auxois, in Burgundy, Château de Châteauneuf dominates the plain from its rocky promontory at an altitude of 475m. This 12th century military fortress, which controlled the road from Dijon to Autun, was completed in the 15th century by Philippe Pot, the great seneschal of Burgundy. Its silhouette is reflected in the Burgundy Canal, in the light of the full moon.
